And no one has been more instrumental in helping to defne that voice than Dana Tanyeri. Dana has been the managing editor of rd+d since its inception, as well as a vital contribu- tor to our sister publication, Foodservice Equipment & Supplies magazine, since 2010. I am so pleased to announce that, with this issue, Dana has assumed the role of editor-in-chief at rd+d. This change heralds many others for the magazine as it continues to grow and evolve. Beginning in 2015, in response to reader demand, rd+d will move from a quarterly to a bimonthly publication schedule, with six issues a year. And restaurant design digest, our companion digital newsletter, has already doubled in frequency to twice monthly. We now deliver project coverage, expert insights, and design and development news to subscribers' inboxes on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Recently, rd+d also launched a series of webcasts. The frst, "Project Management 101," took place in August, and the second, "Next-Generation Platform Strategies," is coming up this November. In 2015 the webcast lineup will address topics ranging from rebrand- ing to site selection and green building strategies. In addition, we'll continue the breadth and depth of coverage available on our website, rddmag.com. Of course, this kind of growth can only be accomplished as part of a team effort. Among additional positive changes at rd+d, founding rd+d editor and editor- in-chief of Foodservice Equipment and Supplies Joe Carbonara, has assumed the role of editorial director. Anne LoCascio, our talented art director and production manager, is expanding her department. And Rebecca Kilbreath, our award- winning social media maven and web editor, has promised to post and tweet even faster to keep up. Just as your brands continue to evolve and grow, so does ours. It's all part of our commitment to keep the conversation going among industry professionals in this important niche of the chain and multiconcept restaurant industry. When we started rd+d as a supplement to Foodservice Equipment & Supplies in 2012, we knew that we were setting out to reach an under- served audience, but we worried that the target niche might be too narrow to support an ongoing, viable publication. What we have discovered, however, is a vibrant world of passionate, talented people whose largely underreported work literally sets the commercial food- service stage. Readers have embraced the concept, and we've had a blast pull- ing back the curtain on what's proven to be a fascinating side of the business. All the best, MAUREEN SLOCUM President and Publisher maureen@zoombagroup.com
